Whiteboard

Quiet frustrating: I've prepared several whiteboards for the simultaneous use in the session. I was opening these whiteboards and was writing on them - but the participiants could not use them. So no collaboration was possible. Just one participant was able to write on my prepared whiteboard - while his access via browser. So how can I use prepared (!) whiteboards as a starting point for working and writing on it? And furthermore: When it will be possible to provide prepared whiteboards in breakout rooms? Thanks for help. While that was a annoying experience. 😞
Hi all, I use zoom to tutor students in math. Often I need a grid or coordinate plane as an overlay to the whiteboard. But, I don't know either how to drop an overlay - maybe a grid I make in excel - onto the whiteboard, where I'm still able to mark the grid with numbers, lines, dots, arrows, etc. Or, is there already a pre-made coordinate plane through zoom? Thank you for your help.deb
Hello! I updated Zoom a couple of days ago. Since then, my annotations have started to fail. While I am screen sharing and using the annotate tools, they disappear for a few seconds while I add text boxes, draw lines, use highlighters or shapes, click on tabs, and practically do anything that requires clicking or moving the cursor. It's really annoying because I use tools throughly, which means the participants can barely see what I am annotating. Edit: I played around with the controls in a Zoom meeting. I discovered that pausing the shared screen is what triggers the annotations to fail. Unpausing does not solve the issue. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling Zoom to no avail. I have a Macbook Pro 13-inch M1 from 2020 with MacOS Monterey 12.6.1. I would appreciate any feedback or recommendations to fix this issue. Thanks in advance!
Is there a way to create links that will navigate (move your screen focus) to another location on the whiteboard? The general idea is to have a whiteboard that has several sections; an overview section that could have clickable objects to navigate/zoom you to different sections of the whiteboard without having to use the minimap.
I recently purchased iPad 5th generation along with Apple Pencil and started seeing compatibility issues when I used Apple Pencil to write on Zoom whiteboard. There is a lag when one writes, the characters are unclear and appear sometimes not legible. I took it to the Apple store and they exchanged the iPad, Pencil and reloaded the software however this issue remained. I was advised by Apple representative that Zoom has issues with the Apple M1 chip and this needs to be resolved by Zoom with a software update. I do not have this issue with the Apple iPad 3rd generation the writing comes out perfectly well. Let me know if someone in this forum has seen similar issue and how was it resolved.
I'm using the new Zoom whiteboard on an iPad - I don't see a pointer anymore to point to items on the screen? Does anyone know if this is still possible? It was a very useful feature of the old whiteboard.
Hi Community Friends,Twice today I've had text disappear from one of my completed templates. I'm attaching a png of a before and after shot that clearly shows what happened. I'm a bit disappointed and hoping this doesn't continue to happen. Is this happening to anybody else? Is there a fix or maybe a way to prevent it that I'm not aware of?Blessings,Melissa
Good morning, In our upcoming training sessions, we will have participants moved into breakout rooms. Once there, we would like them to have the ability to open a whiteboard (like using a flipchart) to gather their group discussions, and then have the ability to save and then share their whiteboards (like flipchart paper) with everyone once they return to the main room. Is this possible? and if so, how is this achieved? Thank you
I am running an Asus Windows 10 compter. I am a trainer and I create customized templates which go along with the training materials. I cannot get Zoom to allow me to use the personal templates within the breakout rooms and give them functionality. I have looked for videos but all the videos discuss the whiteboard but nothing about my templates or using personal templates. What must I do to use only personal templates in the breakout rooms?
Hi I am new to this platform. I need to learn if I can upload pdf file ( a book) and add post-it notes to it so I can do annotations on it for students. I have access to the zoom account used for the school, however, I created my own account so I can practice. Please, if anyone, can help me with directions I would appreciate it.
When I click on an object using the Select tool, I do not see the handle for rotating the shape—i.e., the "double arrow icon in the lower left corner" mentioned on this Zoom help page in the "Rotate objects" section: https://support.zoom.us/hc/en-us/articles/11881743398413-Using-the-Select-tool Therefore, I'm unable to rotate objects. Please help!
With the newly updated Whiteboard I no longer have the option of 'use Apple Pen' only - this means that as soon as my hand touches the whiteboard, the screen starts to move right/left or up/down, making it hard to write on the whiteboard. Is there a way to lock the scree and stop it from moving? In the older version, activating the 'apple pen only' mode meant I could rest my hand on the iPad screen with no ill-effects to the whiteboard. Similarly, as soon as I rest my hand on the whiteboard to write, the zoom button on the bottom right is activated, and constantly zooms the whiteboard in/out.Is there a way to reposition any of the toolbars, especially the ones on the top left and bottom right of the screen, so one can write on the whiteboard while resting the hand on it? The second issue have is that I cannot see the participants video screen any more - in the previous version I could see their video on the bottom right of my feed (iPad). Without this, it makes face-to-

When I tried to cancel the white board feature subscription, it says it can't be cancelled. Can anyone help?
Lately, whenever I use my tablet pen to write on the presentation whiteboard for my classes, it is not as sure-fire as before. Sometimes, what I write doesn't appear on the whiteboard at all, or missing some letters even though I am sure I have actually moved my tablet pen to write them. It happens so often that it is becoming quite irritating; I have to keep going back to re-write those missing letters.I have tried writing on a blank PowerPoint, Word and even on a blank PDF page - my tablet pen works fine.Wonder what is the cause/s of it all. Is there a workaround? I noticed that it all started to be like it is now after I have upgraded to the latest ZOOM software (where the collaborative whiteboard was introduced). Is it something to do with this?Is there a way to roll back to the version of ZOOM without the collaborative whiteboard? So that I can test out what I have suspected? If you have encountered similar problems please share. If you have a solution for my problem - Better!!
I've been using Miro for a few years now, and have been excited to see Zoom implement a whiteboard feature. However I've not been able to create a basic board that is functional for my students to see what I'm seeing, and also be able to easily enter their own information. Some of the main issues I'm finding are:* Not knowing where my students are on the board, and helping them find me* Post-it notes I've prefilled with a colored box behind them lose the colored box on student screens* Some grouped objects I've entered don't appear on student screens* When trying to save a template of my file, I often get unable to save file I'd love to move all my whiteboards from Miro to. Zoom WB, but from what I can see it's not time yet. If I'm missing something, or if you can confirm that Zoom is aware of the issues and working on them, I would be most grateful. I'm cheering for Zoom to be successful with this, but I can't risk my own business in the meantime. Thanks, Kevan
Sure, I know that I can select the frame tool in Whiteboard's tool list and click and drag to create a frame - but then what?? I don't see how I can add anything to these frames so what is the purpose? I must be missing something super obvious. Can someone please help me with this?
I am having trouble when sharing the zoom white board on my computer and writing on it on the ipad. It shows the script then it disappears and reappears anything between 1/4-1/2 inch up from where I wrote. Anyone know how to fix it or how to contact zoom about it?
Hi, I had an unwanted guest at my zoom event who shared an offensive whiteboard. I reported him, and included a screenshot of his 'artwork' in the report, but now I've discovered I can't delete his whiteboard from my account/profile. It's listed under Whiteboards, and says 'view-only'. How can I remove it? The only option available is Star, the others are greyed-out. Surely it can't be on my account permanently... (BTW, I'm neither Joe nor Phil - they're two of his aliases, nothing to do with the actual meeting). Thanks,Melanie
For the new zoom whiteboard, what is the maximum number of users that can join to collaborate on the whiteboard ?
To edit a whiteboard, use the editing tools available located on the left side of the screen. Click and drag the icons to the canvas to draw, add shapes, type text, and more. For most controls, clicking on the canvas will then create an object of that type. Taken from zoom.us
On my laptop, when using the text feature of the Zoom whiteboard, the default size of the textbox is rather small. How I change the default size of the text box so it's automatically bigger?
Update: Problem Resolved. After posting this I logged off, this morning I attempted to invite the external user again and the system let me. The warning label now said "User is external". I'm not sure if the system just needed some time to update or what. But it works now and I can add external users. Original Post: I am unable to share or grant permissions to a user outside of my org. He was able to use and interact with the whiteboard during the meeting but I could not add him via the share button, nor could I grant his the request through email.I went through every support request document I could find. -Like this one: Zoom Community: Sharing zoom whiteboard outside my organization. and many others. And made these settings changes under account settings (under admin)I even created a group and added the entire team to the group. Then I went to that group - whiteboard - and made the above setting changes under the group. So now I've gone back to try to add this exter
Hello, I did the update recommended last evening and when I was in a Zoom Meeting tutoring a student, my writing tool would not work consistently. I could write for about 10 seconds and then nothing for about 20 seconds. I have to click the tool icon multiple times. Help! I am trying to help these students with their Algebra assignments. Has anyone else had this issue?
I have been working on a whiteboard for awhile and I was able to have multiple text colors within one shape and now I can no longer do that. I would like to have the first line of text in one color and the rest of the text in another color. I am assuming this is a feature that was taken away with the recent update but I am not sure. Please advise.
